TAD's Junior Competition - 16th July 2006

This year in July 2007 we held our first JUNIOR TE-ASHI-DO competiton at Epping sports centre with over 50 children taking part. The groups were split into height catogeries excluding the Dinky Dudes (under 8yrs). All the children behaved well with only one or two getting a little bit, shall we say excited, and the standard of some of them was well above their age and bodes well for the future.

In the Dinky Dudes the final was between Aaron Fitzgerald and Rob Harrison and after a close match Aaron was the victor and receievd a nice trophy for hes troubles. In the under 4ft6"again there were some fierceley fought battles the final being between Oliver Willmoth and Jamie Fitzgerald (Aaron older brother) although Oliver put up a good show Jamie was the more expierenced and came out the winner.In the girls section we had two sisters in the final with Claudia Halford competing against her older sister Lucia, both girls put up a good clean match with Lucia the victor.

In the boys under 5ft5" group there were some excellent high kicks with great control one that stands out in my mind was the fight between Ben Capdevill and Harry O.Brien both boys have great potential Harry eventually beating Ben to go into the final. The final was between Harry and Fabian Sorce again a very guttsey display by both lads but Harry came out on top .In the over 5ft5" section therewere a few big boys (what do they eat now days) the final match was between Alex Marley and Alexander Halford (Lucia and Claudia,s older brother) these boys are strong and big for their ages and have good ability with both hands and legsbut there has to be a winner and Alexander Halfod won upholding the family honour with hes sisters.

Well done to everyone who part took in the competition you all showed great control and everyone of them deserved the medal that they each got for taking part. In the later part of the year we will be holding another one so watch this space.
