Te-Ashi-Do was invited to compete in the Wado International Karate-Do Federation British National Karate Championships, held at Grundy Park Leisure Centre, Herts.

Well Done to the many students entered in categories for both kata and kumite. It was a day comprising of a broad spectrum of emotions - anticipation, nerves, adrenaline rush, disappointment, satisfaction, surprise, triumph and even some physical pain - all part of the learning curves of entering the competition arena.

Te-Ashi-Do Karate Club came away with medals - well done to Harvey Horn (bronze, Dinky Dudes Kumite), Charlie Lampshire (Silver, Cadets 3rd Kyu and above Kumite) and Kathy Bonner (Silver, Ladies up to 4th Kyu Kumite). Congratulations to all of you!

Most important is the fact that so many students entered, and many for the first time. It's never what you expect it to be and hindsight is a double-edged sword - you generally wish you'd done things differently and you can learn from it. But you can't measure your own development unless you keep at it. It takes discipline to keep training regularly, guts to get up on the mat and strength of character to keep getting up. That is not always easy.

Well done and congratulations to all of the student who entered!
